Education

I have regular Abitur (vaguely equivalent to a High School Diploma), with an average of 1.8, which I obtained via nightschool (Abendgymnasium Sophie Scholl, Osnabrück) from 2006 to 2009.

I've studied History and German Studies until my passion for web development made me change my career in 2013.

I don't feel the need to put my whole life story on the internet, just the important parts. So, if you want to know more about me than the basics, please don't hesitate to contact me :)

Career

  1. 50Hours (Working Student)

    Duration:
    May 2013 to Dec 2013
    Tasks:
design implementations, creating landing pages, and managing website content
Details 50Hours was a startup that enabled its users to save money for last-minute tickets to a variety of events. This was my first job that allowed me to get paid for my hobby of designing and developing websites, made a huge difference to me and changed the plans for my future.
  2. Self employed (Freelance Fullstack Developer)

    Duration:
    Since Jan 2014
    Tasks:
web development, design implementations, basic DevOps, conception, and consulting
Details Since I had already done frontend web development as a hobby for years before I got my first job as a student, it felt relatively easy to start freelance work by myself. I began with Wordpress but quickly moved away from it and broadened my horizon. I'm still freelancing, but nowadays I prefer permanent positions that allow me to occasionally take freelancing jobs, because I enjoy the variety and learning opportunities.
  3. Datalyze Solutions (Frontend/Backend Developer)

    Duration:
    Jul 2017 to Jun 2021
    Tasks:
    Web development
Details Working on medium to large projects, mainly for larger clients, such as CBRE and Bosch. I had already collected about three and a half years worth of freelancing experience and felt the need to do something else than WordPress development and creating landing pages. React and Elixir/Phoenix was fun and fairly new to me, so I jumped at the opportunity to start a permanent position at Datalyze Solutions. It helped, that I had already done freelance work there too.
  4. aedvice (Fullstack Developer)

    Duration:
    Jul 2021 to Dec 2022
    Tasks:
Web development, basic DevOps, and Consulting
Details This job gave me another set of opportunities I very much enjoyed: teaching eager colleagues how to program and develop websites, and doing consulting work. I also chose most of the tech-stack for building a map-application for visualizing data needed by gagers, city surveyors and real estate project developers and got into DevOps with GitLab, Docker, VPS providers, etc. which was a lot more fun than I would have thought and also a very useful skill to pick up.
  5. repartners (Fullstack Developer)

    Duration:
    Jan 2023 to Mar 2024
    Tasks:
    Web development, DevOps, and Consulting
Details Essentially the same job description and work tasks as with my prior employer. The project I've worked on moved from aedvice to repartners. I simply switched my employer along with the work project.
